Always remember that you are not alone in your college journey! Get to know your faculty and staff. They can be great resources as well as mentors! Make connections with your peers - these can develop into lifelong friendships.

Get Involved

“Get involved and challenge yourself to make Cal Poly your new home. It is hard at the beginning to figure out where everything is because it takes time. But make the effort early on so you can feel more at home.” — Current CP transfer student

Explore some of the many ways to get involved on campus. If you are seeking to find a community at Cal Poly we also encourage you to come to one of the Transfer Center events.

Join a Club or Organization

Find one of the 350+ clubs that align with your interests in or outside the classroom. The first Sunday of fall quarter there is a club showcase for all students — this is a great opportunity to walk around and visit with different clubs on campus. Search the current clubs.

“Clubs are a must to join—you get to do things you otherwise wouldn't.” - Current CP Transfer student

The Association of Transfer Students is a Cal Poly club designed to help transfer students make their transition to Cal Poly as fun and easy as possible.

Student Serving and Affinity Group Spaces

If you are involved in Cal Poly Scholars, Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), or TRIO we encourage you to engage in the programs and opportunities they have for students (both their transfer specific programs and their programs for all students within the program).

There are many different offices on campus that support students and the various interests and identities they hold.

Student Employment

MustangJobs - Many office and departments on campus have employment options for students!

The majority of student serving and affinity spaces above also offer student employment options so be sure to look for them on MustangJobs or stop by their spaces to learn about opportunities for employment as some of them may not post the job on Handshake.
